Step#1 - FRST Fix NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system 1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. If you already have this downloaded you don't have to do this again. Note: You need to run the 32-bit Version so please ensure you download that one. 2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop. Note. It's important that both files, FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop). 3. Run FRST by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator. 4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. 5. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply. Attachments fixlist.txt 741 bytes · Views: 3 Last edited: Sep 26, 2015

Please manually download the update from the link below and attempt to install it using the downloaded file. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3068708 If it fails, please zip and attach your C:\Windows\Logs\CBS.log Thank you.

Locate a Windows 7 Professional x86 with SP1 DVD and do a repair install. This will likely fix the issue and allow you to keep all of your programs and data. 2. Convert your Physical machine to a Virtual machine and ship it over to me via FTP. We can take a crack at resolving this offline. This will allow us try more methods that we wouldn't want to do to your live system. Hopefully we can come up with a resolution and just provide that to you. If you decide on this one I'll provide information on how to send over the VM privately. Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Can you remind me the type of machine that you have? (i.e., Dell, Acer, HP).

I also assume that this was a full version and not an upgrade. If it was an upgrade key then it won't work. If it is a full Retail version of Windows 7 Professional and the link I provided is not accepting the key you are putting in then I would contact Microsoft, explain the situation and see if they can tell you why. Info on who to contact is below. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/326246

Is it the same when I will do a fresh install of Windows 7 on a second disc drive and install SP1 afterwards. Then creating a recovery CD from this fresh installation und trying a repair on my original disk drive? Your above assumptions are correct. kind regards Gerhard
