Hello, I have been having problems burning DVD's. I have used Verbatim DVD-R Live series RW discs and Memorex DVD+R discs. I have run a troubleshooting thing on win7 for hardware problems. It says it detected a problem but never explain the problem nor fixed it.I hope this drive is not going out. It is burning something on the discs but when I put the discs in it asks me if I want to burn a disc. I don't know what is going on. I'm usually pretty good at finding and fixing my computer problems but every now and then I get stumped, like now. Thanks

Hi Michael,
Do you have some spare non rewritable discs to test with?
Which program are you using?

Are you sure you're burning the discs correctly and finalizing them? You'll have to be more specific as to what type of disc you're trying to burn, the software used and the format of your files.

On this particular one I used a Verbatim DVD+R "life series" RW 16X speed disk. I burned 5 videos to it. Afterwards I put it back in to see if it would play. It did play all 5 videos. Now when I put it in, Windows wants to know if I want to burn a disk. It physically shows on the disk that something has been burned to the disk. Could it be a loose connection? I was having trouble with the original disk player because it would not read dvd's. I then bought the same one from Ebay. It was working well until lately.

Michael, you will have to be more specific in order for someone to help you.

E.G. - What program are you using to burn the disc and what are the steps you're using? What type/format disc are you creating - a Properly formatted DVD video disc, a data disc, an ISO? I don't mean what type of blank media are you using.
