Here's a perplexing one for anybody. The wife has an HP G60-445DX laptop and I can't get the built in microphone to work. I can't even find the physical location of the microphone on the laptop and HP documentation clearly says it has one. Windows sees the microphone and it's set as the default device and has the green check mark on it. But for what ever reason it just wont pick up any reception of a voice.
I've went through and cleaned the laptop from malware/spyware and Virus's....none found. I've updated all the drivers to include the chipset. Still no mic input what so ever. When doing a recording as suggested from HP site using the built in windows recorder and then playing it back....nothing....just 5 seconds of silence.
I have no idea how long it's been like this...it's the wifes....I only get to touch it when she has really got it messed up or she can't figure something out....
