BSOD

Hello.
I re-ran Driver Identifier andjcgriff2 BSOD File Collection app and attached them to this post.

Here is my computer:
OS = Windows 7 professional service pack 1
x64
· What was original installed OS on system?= Same as above
· the OS is a full retail version
· Age of system (hardware)= June 2011
· Age of OS installation= Same as above
. have you re-installed the OS?= Yes

· CPU = Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 2600k CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 3401 MGz, 4 cores, 8 Logical Processors
· Video Card= Nvidia GeForce GTX 580
· MotherBoard= ASrock Z68 Extreme4
· Power Supply = SeaSonic SS-850km active PFC F3, 850W
I built this system myself; I gutted an old Alienware Aurora computer (2005) and used it for my case. May be I should go bigger?
Anyway, thanks again for your help

Hi -

There were no dump files in the zip attachment.

Did you have to run System Restore to regain control of your system after Driver Verifier forced the BSOD? If so, the restore likely wiped the dump out.

Did you happen to see a driver name on the Driver Verifier BSOD screen?

The Event Viewer system log does show 49 "unexpected system shutdown" entries going back to 17 Sept 2012. I cannot find any BSOD bugcheck info which leads me to believe that unknown hardware failure is the cause.

Event Viewer logs entries show Windows Defender very active changing its state >200 times in the last few weeks:

The start type of the Windows Defender service was changed from auto start to demand start.
The start type of the Windows Defender service was changed from demand start to auto start.
The start type of the Windows Defender service was changed from auto start to disabled.

I would suggest that you disable Windows Defender for now. I noticed you have MBAM installed. Please run a full system scan - all drives.

Have you had any problems with the HDDs?

Please run HDD diags - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/4072-Hard-Drive-(HDD)-Diagnostics

I will have to ask a Hardware Expert to look in on this.

Hello jcgriff2.
Here it is: my C drive has passed both the Seagate long test and the WD test which is what my drive is (WD1002FAEX).
So, I am scratching my head and seriously starting to think that my case is too small! It is 9" wide, 20" deep and 21.5 high. I had the computer on all day yesterday under normal use and it worked just fine, but a few minutes into a game I play online (World Of Tanks) it started to crash several times with a BOSD every time. I must mention that the fan in the back of the computer blows out fairly cool air, but when I play the game and the thing crashes, the air is quite warm!
The BOSDs only mentioned that recently installed new hardware could cause the problem. I also noticed that the count up to 100 to the mini dump (I Think it is) does not make it to 100 half the time; for your information.
Otherwise I can only tell you that I am using Intel Rapide Storage Technology and could this cause Problems?
Thanks again for any help and suggestions and
HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
