Hello,
I had two BSOD the last couple of weeks (computer acting very laggy all of a sudden, then the blue screen with error kernel_data_inpage_error). When it booted back, I found myself several times on the BIOS and I had to restart a few time to go back to windows. I had some help on the forum on another thread because I found some corruption on my computer, everything seemed resolved:
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...er-errors-after-kernel-data-inpage-error.html
But this morning, I got the BSOD again...
I am attaching the files from the instructions for posting a BSOD error but I can't get PERFMON to work (error: "An error occurred while attempting to generate the report.") and I can't get jcgriff2 to work all the way (at the end it keeps printing "waiting for system information", I waited two hours and stopped it). I used CPU-Z to get an additionnal report.

THank you in advance for your help!

Hi,

There are no dump files located in your output folder. Please navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and manually zip up and attach any/all crash dumps.

Regards,

Patrick

Thank you for your reply! but I can't find any "minidump" folder in C:/Windows/, it goes from Microsoft.net to ModemLogs... could it be somewhere else?
Thanks for taking the time!

Nope, and this is why I asked. Thanks for the information.

With that said, please follow the below:

1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.

2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.

3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.

Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.

4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:

Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.

If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

Regards,

Patrick

Thank you! Small Memory Dump wasn't selected (it was "erase everything") and WERS wasn't running, everything should be ok now (I chose the size of the dump = 256ko, partial memory dump, since my computer is in french I guess this is the right choice).

erase everything

That's one way to do it, and not the way we want! :grin1: Keep me updated since making the changes, and good work.

my computer is in french

Parlez-vous français? Si c'est le cas, vous parlez très bien l'anglais! C'est très impressionnant.

Regards,

Patrick
