Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing BSOD while watching movies via YouTube (which seems to be HTML5) as well as Flash players. It appears randomly. Sometimes the BSOD shows up after 10 seconds of watching and sometimes the movie runs without any problem for half an hour.

I used your SysnativeBSODCollectionApp.exe tool, but it got stuck at "Waiting for SystemInfo" for more than 25 minutes now. I zipped the folder manually and attached it here to the post. If you are missing anything, just let me know how to get the missing information.

- OS - Windows 7
- x64
- What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
- Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? MSDNAA license from my university
- Age of system (hardware) 5 days
- Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? 5 days. Yes the OS was re-installed with the new hardware

- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz
- Video Card: GeForce GTX 970 (GIGABYTE G1 Gaming)
- MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop): ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer
- Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one): bequiet! PurePower 630W

- Laptop or Desktop? Desktop

Unfortunately the output of the perfmon command is german. I hope that helps anyway. There is one error which tells me, that there is a device which is unknown. I know that issue, but I didn't find out yet, what kind of hardware this is.

Thank you very much for your help! :)

Unfortunately the output of the perfmon command is german.

This is likely why. Our app hangs on non-English languages, and it's being worked out for the next development cycle.

Code:

Why no SP1? Update ASAP.

2. Get rid of avast!, it's likely causing the NETIO conflict:

avast! removal - http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

FWIW, I also disable HWA for Flash content.

Firefox -

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Hi Patrick,

wow ... you are fast in analyzing the issue.

So you think, that this is an software related issue and not a broken hardware problem? That would be kind of a good news.
I will follow your steps and see if it works when I'm back home in the evening. Do you have an idea how to force the BSOD? Because it looks to me, that it appears randomly on Chrome.

How is it possible that avast is causing such problems?

Thank you so much,
Tom

Correct.

Do you have an idea how to force the BSOD?

Well, you noted it happens most with flash content, so that would be the best way.

How is it possible that avast is causing such problems? Can you recommand an other anti virus software?

I don't see anything else present that can cause Network I/O Subsystem conflicts. avast! is extremely popular in causing this problem among others. Use MSE for now as I linked after uninstalling avast!.

Hi Patrick,

I tested my system the whole day now and everything seems to work just fine. I didn't get any BSOD while watching videos.
At this point, thank you very much again for you quick and qualified help!

I'll come back on my next Bluescreen

Tom
