Hello,

I got a BSOD while benching my Samsung 950 Pro (NVME SSD) using CrystalDiskMark 5.2.0 (x64).

The files are attached as directed in the BSOD post procedures. BlueScreenView named dxgkrnl.sys as the offending Driver. Bug Check Code: 0x100000ea, if that helps.

Let me know what more I can provide.

Thanks,

I forgot to elaborate on the questionnaire that while the processor, motherboard, PSU, and RAM are ~4 yrs old, I recently added the MSI RX 480 about a month ago, and the Samsung Pro 950 NVME SSD on 10/18 when I reinstalled windows. I am using the LycomDT-120 adapter for Samsung Pro 950. Finally, I upgraded my monitor to an Acer XF240H with FreeSync.

Also, I've been running Drive Verifier for over a day. What data am I looking for when I run verifier /query? I am seeing "Verifier flags: 0x0002892b". Never used this tool, so I will need some advice there.

One more note... I got home this afternoon and my desktop was on but I could not get my monitor to register ("No Signal"). Checked the Caps Lock button and it worked. So, I disconnected my monitor power on switched it off. Plugged it back in with same results. Disconnected the DP Cable from both the monitor and GPU... nothing. Then, I hit the reset button on my PC. Now, the Caps Lock doesn't work, still a black screen and my PC didn't really make noises (fan fluctuations, etc. upon reboot). What eventually worked was turning the PC off, and while I was at it, switching off the PSU and waiting 20 seconds. Then, the PC booted as normal.

No new entry for a BSOD, and the Event Viewer only showed a Critical Error for me killing the system without properly shutting down. Notable repeat Error was for "The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR1, has a bad block." Event ID is "7". Finally, a repetitive error that's occurred since Windows reinstall is Event ID 140: "The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: E:, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume4.
(A device which does not exist was specified.)" and Event ID 51: "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 during a paging operation."

Not sure if I have 2 separate things going on, or if Driver Verifier found a bad driver, but no BSOD was initiated, perhaps?

Thanks again,

Hi,

your dump 102516-7156-01.dmp included in your first posting blamed your ati-driver.

however in the meantime i had some HP z-820 workstations equipped with samsung NVMe drives and those machines crashed to from time to time.

The reason was Intels Rapid Storage which did not do well with those or generell NVMe's, so we deinstalled Intel and installed the corresponding Samsung driver (you have it on your cd shipped with the drive?)

after that, no system went down so pls deinstall your Intel Rapid storage and install samsungs driver for NVMe.
for further crashes reconfigure your system for full kerneldumps.

Thanks for the response Michael. I recently reinstalled Windows, because I kept losing functionality within Windows 10, such as downloading and installing apps from the app store, generating diagnostic reports via perfmon, and DXGI_Error_Device_Removed crashes in Hitman Absolution. I did not reinstall Rapid Storage Technology this time around, and have not had any BSODS since the reformat.

Thanks for reminding me that I forgot to set the dumps to "Complete Memory Dump" after I refreshed the OS. Changed that setting.

I'm still at a loss about the perfmon reports not functioning. If I run perfmon /report, it never generates the report. Just says "Collecting Data for 60 seconds" and it never finishes. But I digress...
