Hi -

bridge.sys named as the probable cause -
Code:
0: kd> [B]lmvm bridge[/B]
start end module name
fffff880`01472000 fffff880`01497000 bridge T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: [COLOR=#FF0000]bridge.sys[/COLOR]
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\bridge.sys
    Image name: bridge.sys
    Timestamp: Wed Jul 25 22:23:17 2012 (5010AA15)

It is a Windows component - http://www.sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=bridge.sys

Run Driver Verifier - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...river-verifier-blue-screen-death-related.html

I'll post the output from the 46 dumps when complete.

Regards. . .

Often caused by strict Security App, in your case Eset.

Please remove Eset antivirus:
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\ESET Public:Start Menu\Programs\ESET PublicStart Menu\Programs\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus Public:Start Menu\Programs\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus Public
Also check for a BIOS update:
Code:
BIOS Version/Date Award Software International, Inc. F6a, 7/14/2008
Run SFC scannow and a clean boot:
Hope this helps..

Hi,
Thanks to all
I tried these methods and i removed my eset antivirus and enabled windows difender and I have the latest bios version (f6a) for my motherboard
I also run sfc /scannow and no problem found
I saw some crash when i used firefox i had to disabled firefox plugins
and now i just saw BSOD at two times ( i attached mini dump files)
I should waiting for bridge.sys driver update
Now,I had to delete network bridge and i will create it again only when i have to use it
Should i create network bridge and Run Driver Verifier for bridge.sys or do not necessary?

Hello GZ,
I have Cable internet access i use network bridge to connect my systems to internet
if i delete network bridge i should manually disconnect cable from each one and connect it to another one every time i want use internet for them but with network bridge i do not need do this and if one system is connected to internet another one can also use internet
i thinks that is better i use manually method until bridge.sys driver update released for windows 8

The 3 dumps in post #5 name bridge.sys

We do need Driver Verifier enabled -- per instructions, select 3rd party drivers only (non-Microsoft).

Please answer GZ's question as TBH - I don't fully understand the bridge myself.

Thanks,

jcgriff2

Just an FYI. There are plenty of solutions to your issue without using your system as a network bridge. The easiest is by using a network router or switch so that multiple PCs can be connected to the network and access internet content without being routed through your system.

Could you expand on your network bridge?

I don't have access to your uploaded files while I am here at work, so I am going to have to rely on your description of your physical network.

A few questions...

  • What node is your PC connected to? (Router, Modem, etc.)
  • How is your PC connected to that node? (Wireless or Wired)
  • Do you use DHCP or manually set your IPs?
  • How is the bridged PC connected to your PC? (USB, ieee 1394, serial/parallel, Ethernet or Wireless)
  • How many physical network adapters do you have installed in your PC? (WiFi & NIC)

thanks for your information
here is my connections information
I have two physical network adapters D-Link DFE-530TX PCI and D-Link DFE-520TX ( i used the second for Bridge Connection) in one system
and one physical network adapter in another system : Atheros AR8162/8166/8168 PCI-E Fast Ethernet (10/100MBit)
I use PPPOE connection to use the internet
bridge is connected Through Ethernet
I do not set any ip for D-Link DFE-530TX and PPPOE Connection that connected to internet
but i set ip 192.168.0.1 for second (D-Link DFE-520TX) adapter that use for bridge and set ip 192.168.0.2 for another system (Atheros AR8162/8166/8168 PCI-E Fast Ethernet)

Thank you. So the only other node is the PPoE Modem?

I would suggest the use of a physical router. Most routers will allow the physical connection of up to 5 PCs and wireless routers will do that plus allow a large number of wireless connections.

Hopefully the information provided will help the BSOD guys track down the problem in your Bridged connection, but my suggestion remains the same. An inexpensive wired or WiFi enabled router would negate the use of the network bridge.

Hi,
Thanks to all
I tried these methods and i removed my eset antivirus and enabled windows difender and I have the latest bios version (f6a) for my motherboard
PS: Those dumps are of 26-01-13

yes , all three modems use PPPOE connection
i should create network bridge between D-Link DFE-530TX PCI and D-Link DFE-520TX PCI in my system and now the PPPOE connection can connected to internet and also other system with Atheros AR8162/8166/8168 PCI-E Fast Ethernet modem can use the internet Through the Network bridge that i created in my first system.

thanks for your suggestion

yes I'm sorry , i attached wrong mini dumps in post #5 those dumps are before i uninstalled eset antivirus
here is new minidumps that I've seen so far after uninstalled eset antivirus and run sfc / scannow command.

Hmm. Similar bridge.sys errors and VirtualBox network driver errors. Uninstall and reinstall the software..Does it make any difference?

Also run Driver Verifier as instructed by John earlier,.

If this does not help stop the BSOD-s, I'd suggest a clean install of Windows 8, because it looks like the network drivers are corrupted.

Hi -

Any doubt that bridge.sys is in fact the Microsoft Windows driver that we (I) think it is?

http://www.sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=bridge.sys

Please run this command from an Admin CMD prompt -
START | type cmd.exe | Right-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | Paste -
Code:
where /r %systemdrive%\ /f /t bridge.sys >0 & start notepad 0

It may take a few minutes to run.

A Notepad will open upon completion.

Output from my system - Windows 7 x64 SP1 -
Code:
     95232 07/13/2009 20:01:48 "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\bridge.sys"
     95232 07/13/2009 20:01:48 "C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-networkbridge_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_63dee2821fc69fce\bridge.sys"

Those are Windows drivers.

Hi,
I Run that command and the output from my system is :

Code:
    129536 7/26/2012 5:53:17 AM "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\bridge.sys"
    129536 7/26/2012 5:53:17 AM "C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-networkbridge_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.9200.16384_none_60b3983f8fd9cf1e\bridge.sys"

I Also attach my bridge.sys system File , I hope it is useful

Hi -

Thanks for running the command.

bridge.sys is definitely a Windows 8 driver. From your attachment:

02-01-2013_W8bridge.sys.png

A Driver Verifier dump is really needed here as it will hopefully add info to the dump to help ID the culprit, assuming software is the cause.

VM may be an issue here as well.

Hi -

Apologies for triple-play here, but this D-Link DFE-520TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter driver just caught my eye:
Code:
[font=lucida console]fetn63a.sys                 Thu Aug 16 15:04:30 2012 (502D443E)[/font]
http://carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=fetn63a.sys

Where did you obtain the August 2012 driver from?

I was only able to locate a 2010 driver that does not list Windows 8 support -

http://www.dlink.com.my/support/support_detail.asp?idProduct=467

Also, your system files show fetn63a.sys location as:
Code:
C:\Windows\[COLOR="#FF0000"]LastGood.Tmp[/COLOR]\system32\DRIVERS\fetn63a.sys

I would expect to find it in -
Code:
C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\fetn63a.sys

Where did C:\Windows\LastGood.Tmp folder come from? What else is in it?

Regards. . .

I upgrade this driver fetn63a.sys an install latest version : 9/21/2012 ( 1.8.0.0 )
but the fetn63a.sys file in lastgood.tmp folder is for 6/2/2012 ( 1.5.0.0 )
I attached all of them
I see only old fetn63.sys file in lastgood.tmp folder

I Also removed VM Software But as I said in my first post I think Problem is for trace command when I created network bridge
If I run Tracert -d 4.2.2.4 command or install any software that need to trace I will see BSOD.
for example when I try to run your file ( jcgriff2 BSOD File Collection app ) when I was online I see BSOD
and when I disconnected from internet I can run and use your file
but If I delete network bridge and run Tracert -d 4.2.2.4 command it works completely and also other programs.
