I have received input from another Windows troubleshooting advice to no resolve; in fact I'm not sure if the advice exacerbated the problem. I ran multiple diagnostics; most recently overnight (12.5 hours) with Memtest86+ with no errors. I have ran scan disk I do not have the Windows installation disc, if one ever existed. The laptop was purchased new in 2009 from Best Buy. I was able to create a Windows 7 Home Premium 64x dvd and usb flash iso. The recovery and restore has not helped. I downloaded the latest bios from Gateway (\BIOS_Gateway_1.05_A_A\BIOS_Gateway_1.05_Windows) and get an error when I try to execute: Driver (WDM) Init fail! (x137) I had the first occurrence of a problem in Sep 2012. I was able to use the W7 iso dvd to actually upgrade the computer and that solved the problem until last week when the problem reoccurred. I have a Niro Blue Screen viewer file if helpful.
