These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

*Dont forget to upload any further DMP files (especially those when verifier is running)

*If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!! If you dont know what this means you probably arent

1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. http://www.memtest.org

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

*Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

*Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

2-Driver verifier

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is.

*But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver.

*Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

*I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise.

*Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

*In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
*Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

*Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.

*Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

*If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
*If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

thanks zigzag3143 for your fast response... I was not overclocking anything. this started happen suddenly 2 weeks ago :-(. I am doing the steps you mentioned...

Hello zigzag

I tried to run memtest and unfortunately i could not run it successfully due to electricity problems here (in pakistan). So i can not run my pc continuously 4 hours. well, i could run it for an hour and i could pass only 2 tests without any error..

I run drivers verifier last night and from that time i just got one BSOD. i have attached dump files.

Hi -

The dump was VERIFIER_ENABLED, but named no 3rd party driver. This points to hardware failure.

The single 4GB stick of RAM needs to be thoroughly tested.

thanks for the reply Sir

i will try to sort out memtest somehow, but might it be 100% RAM fault?

RAM itself very well may be at fault.

You have a single 4 GB stick. Can you swap it out with another to test your system (see if BSODs persist) if you are unable to run memtest86+ due to power issues where you live?

Thanks I would try it out.

hello

i have tested my RAM with memtest. I could ran it for 12 Passes and 7+ Hours..
I did not find any error.

And one thing to notice, usually blue screen happens when go into my G drive... (Just like i double cliked my G drive and tadaaa Blue Screennn ater 3-5 seconds).

so let me know if there could be any solution..

Thanks

Hello there,

I am also in agreement with everyone else, that hardware seems to be the most likely fault. I am saying this for two reasons. One, Driver Verifier didn't flag a 3rd party driver and two, you installed the OS only a short while ago.

As memtest has passed after 12 passes, we'll move on to the next most likely cause, a HDD issue. I think this because you described the issue occuring routinely when opening your G drive. Download and create a bootable version of the Seatools for DOS program as described here.

For check disk, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Start -> Computer
  2. Right click on the disk you would like to check -> Properties
  3. Tools tab -> Error Checking "Check Now"
  4. When the dialogue box opens, put a tick in both boxes click start
  5. If a pop up box appears titled "Windows can't check the disk while it's in use", press "Schedule Disk Check" and reboot your computer.

Stephen

Hello there,

I am also in agreement with everyone else, that hardware seems to be the most likely fault. I am saying this for two reasons. One, Driver Verifier didn't flag a 3rd party driver and two, you installed the OS only a short while ago.

As memtest has passed after 12 passes, we'll move on to the next most likely cause, a HDD issue. I think this because you described the issue occuring routinely when opening your G drive. Download and create a bootable version of the Seatools for DOS program as described here.

For check disk, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Start -> Computer

Stephen

hello
Thanks for the fast reply

It does not happen always when i go into my G drive.... just sometimes..

And i have scanned my G drive with HD Tune which took 1 hour and 5 minutes. So i did not find any bad sector.
As my hard drive is WD , so i also downloaded Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS (CD) and burned it on cd but when i boot it, it gave me error (No disk found).

Ok,
Seatools should work with all HDD's so give that a try and see if it finds the HDD. If not, do the following:

Please run Prime95 to check for hardware issues- 64bit/32bit Please run the 'SmallFFTs' then the 'Large FFTs tests. If any errors occur, stop the tests and post them back here. Keep an eye on your computers temperature also and stop the test if it overheats.

Try running Furmark to stress test your GPU. Select your resolution and enable:

  • Burn-In
  • Xtreme Burn-In
  • Post FX
  • Settings -> Log GPU Temperature

STOP THE TEST IMMEDIATELY IF ARTEFACTS BEGIN TO APPEAR ON THE SCREEN OR THE TEMPERATURE LEVELS OUT OR EXCEEDS 90 DEGREES. If no artefacts or distortion appears on the screen, consider the test passed. If artefacts do appear, make sure the card is properly seated.

Possible temperature monitoring software includes Realtemp and Speedfan[/B]

Stephen

I have installed seatools and i will test the disk now. I ran prime95 test and could not find any error. While running prime95 tests the temperature went up-to 60'c.

I have attached most recent dump file for the BSOD happened an hour ago.

EDIT.. Seatools is not running any test. it is saying 'Test Unavailable'.

Ok, How long did you run Prime95 for? Could you run the blends test for me, for at least an hour. It can take some time to detect errors. Report back once/if Seatools completes. The latest dump doesn't show anything new either, still memory_corruption.

Stephen

i just ran prime95 for 15 minutes... i thought 60'c is high temp , so i stopped the test. what is the critical temp?

Your CPU can get up to 72C perfectly safely. Run Prime95 for an hour at least and see what happens. If it gets beyond 78C, stop the test.

It looks from your image that you are running Seatools for Windows. It can only scan external driver, hence why the test was unavailable for your internal HDD. Burn the Seatools for DOS version to a CD - http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/201271en#GUI and run it. If that still doesn't work, do a Windows Check Disk:

  1. Click Start -> Computer
  2. Right click on the disk you would like to check -> Properties
  3. Tools tab -> Error Checking "Check Now"
  4. When the dialogue box opens, put a tick in both boxes click start
  5. If a pop up box appears titled "Windows can't check the disk while it's in use", press "Schedule Disk Check" and reboot your computer
