BSOD on XP machine

Hi all,

I am getting an BSOD on my Windows XP machine. I hope someone can help me out. I attached a dump.
If you need more information, let me know and I provide.

Out of curiosity, why are you still running Windows XP? From a security standpoint, Windows XP is a vulnerable operating system, all security updates have ceased and therefore any exploits will not be patched by Microsoft.
 
Thank you. I tried with nirsoft bsod. But couldnt find anything. Hope you have other tools to find it.

I will collect more information with the tool that you linked and answer the questions. Will do that in the next 24h.

I have a software running on it. It does not work on windows 7 or 10. Only on XP.

The BSOD posting app only supports Vista and newer.

For XP, there is a version here: https://www.sysnative.com/apps/old_BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD_Sysnative.exe, but it can gather much less info.
 
Thanks for the XP link. Will use that.

I will do the memory test as well. Also I have the page file on manual. Will put it on automatically.

Getting BSOD every couple of hours.

WinDbg appears to having difficulty finding the symbols required for debugging, likely because Windows XP isn't supported by Microsoft anymore.

If you could provide us with the other information, then we can have a look into which drivers are possibly outdated. Have you experienced any hardware problems recently?
 
Yes. Harddisk problem. But I did a clone of the disk. No more errors.

but the BSOD started to happen before I cloned the drive.

I did not attach any new usb devices or monitor to it. All the same.
 
Just to make sure. I have to run the memory diagnostic and the pagefile put to automatic. Correct?

edit: driver verifier is not compatible with XP. Any other link or should I skip it?
 
Have you ran the tool provided by Tekno?

What were the results of the memory diagnostic? What was the problem with the hard drive?
 
I will run it tomorrow. I dont have access to it right now. I will give you the output in a zip within 24H.

Will also give you the results of the memory within 24H.

Hard drive sector were broken. I thought the BSOD was coming from that. So i cloned it.

i did not do a checkdisk or sf scannow. Should I do that. Or is it better to give you the results and then we proceed further?
 
I finally had access to the pc and I did run the tool. Is it possible to send you the logs by PM? Just to keep some information private as it is.
Ofcourse we go further on the forum, so other people can read and benefit from it.

I did a sfc /scannow. It scanned the XP machine and nothing got replaced, because it did not tell me to insert the XP cd. Right?
I did a chkdsk /f. Nothing on the screen showed errors.
I did a chkdsk /r. Nothing on the screen showed errors.
I did a memory check. No errors.
I did check the harddisk with harddisk senintel pro. It showed PERFECT. So not a single bad sector.
 
Could you please post the logs in a single .zip file please? There won't be any personal information within them.
 
Have you been experiencing any issues with your mouse? In the logs, it appears that not all the drivers may have installed correctly for the device.

Driver Verifier is bundled with all operating systems from Windows 2000, have you tried typing verifier in Command Prompt to open the Driver Verifier Manager? More details can be found here - Driver Verifier | Microsoft Docs
 
No problems with my mouse so far I know.

1) Do you want me to plug in another mouse and test?
2) should i run verifier and check for faults? Which driver should i check in particular? so far I know, i select the driver you mention and I restart. If I get a bsod. It's the fault. If not, it will restart automatically. Is that what you want?

if yes, what is the driver name that I need to check.

If not, can you tell me which option you need. For example select:
create custom settings(for code developers)
 
That's the right one, but you'll need to select the custom settings option (code developers), and then select the following (if available):


  1. Special Pool
  2. Force IRQL Checking
  3. Pool Tracking
  4. Deadlock Detection
  5. Miscellaneous Checks

You'll then need to select all the drivers which aren't related to Microsoft.
