BSOD, no stop code, no dump, no errors in event viewer. Need help.

Hi,

I built my computer almost 2 years ago and I'm getting some BSOD/errors while gaming since a few weeks. It's working fine when I'm not playing any game.
I don't have a lot of time to play these day so I only played Rainbow Six Siege since the issue started.

Here's the specs:

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X @stock
MB: Asus Rog Crosshair VIII Formula
RAM: 4x16Go of Corsair Dominator 3600Mhz C16 (DOCP)
PSU: Asus Thor 1200W
Cooler : Corsair H150i RGB Pro XT
Fan Controller : Aquatuning OCTO
SSDs: WD Black SN850 1To + Samsung 970 EVO 1To
GC: RTX3080 FE
Monitors : LG 38GN850B (3840x1600 / 144Hz) + Asus 27" (2560x1440)
Audio : GOXLR Mini

When it happens, the blue screen stays only for 1 or 2 seconds then the computer reboots.
It happened in a middle of a game or during matchmaking...

What is weird is I'm not getting any stop code and no dump was created. When I go to the event viewer, there's no records of anything a few seconds/minutes before the crash...

The other issues I got once, and I think is related, are a lot of werfault.exe errors during one game.
All the apps (browser, background apps, system processes) were shutting down one by one until the game crashed... Could not get any explorer or task manager window until I restart the computer.

I run Windows 11 on a WD Black SN850 1To SSD.
I installed a clean Windows 11 on my second SSD (Samsung 970 EVO 1To) to try and find out if it was a Windows issue.
I've been able to play a whole afternoon and an evening without any issue on the clean install until it happened again a few days ago.

I suspect some hardware issue but I'm not sure what is to blame... Motherboard, CPU, PSU, graphic card...

I have some black and red power extensions cables for the motherboard and the graphic card I should try to remove but I doubt this is the cause of the issue as it was working correctly for months. And I still don't see why there's no dump or no records of anything in the event viewer...

I've read that it could be an issue with the SSD (so it can't write errors or create the dump file) but I get the issue with both SSDs and only while gaming so it has to be something else...

Any help and advice on how to diagnose this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yes, I already checked these settings.
It's set to create an event in system log and to create a minidump file (256Ko) in %SystemRoot%\Minidump

Is this a business computer? I see Active Directory/Azure in the event log.

Are you running the game from a Platform like Steam or Uplay and if so, have you verified the game files? Verifying game files in Ubisoft Connect PC | Ubisoft Help.

I'm not sure where I'm supposed to find these files... and I don't get why the files are from April and March because I reinstalled Windows 11 last week on this SSD...
I have both SSD connected to my computer so I can switch from this clean W11 to my main install. Maybe it scanned the other SSD as well ?

To answer the other questions, it's not a business computer at all but I do have my work email address installed in Outlook (Office 365) on my main SSD.
The only thing I did that may be relative to a business computer is activate Windows using the online KMS server method from msguide... Maybe I should have avoided doing that on this new install... If that's a real problem, I can reinstall Windows, not activate it, and see how it goes from there.

I run this game from Steam. I did a game file verification on my main install, and I redownloaded the game completely on this new install.

On another topic, I recorded the hwinfo log while gaming this afternoon.
It crashed while I was away from the computer during a few minutes.
I noticed a lot of data write/read activity just before it crashed. Not sure if it's related though...
Data 1 (left) is the SSD I run Windows from.

Fair enough. This was only a temporary solution.

Is it ok if I simply deactivate my copy of Windows, which I just did or do I need to completely reinstall Windows ?*

Did you run the Sysnative log tool before you re-installed? Was it a clean install as opposed to an upgrade?

When did you re-install, what date?

I just did that but I really can't find the files you are refering to...
Looked for any *.dmp files and that's all I've found.
Only the selected top ones are from C:
All others are from the other Windows install (which have the same issue since and dates are not even matching...

I'm sorry but are you sure they are coming from my zip file ?

The dumps are from your D drive which you obviously run Steam from and store games on. This drive wasn't affected by the clean installation.

It appears the crash is being caused by the game itself or possibly Steam.

Was the D drive a C drive in the past that ran Windows?

There's my main/old install of Windows on the D drive (which is the C drive when I boot on this drive obviously).

I'm trying to figure out what's going on from the fresh install. I ran the sysnative tool from there and everything is being run from this drive.
Maybe I should remove the second SSD to run the tests and start over so there's only relevant infos showing?

What makes you think the crash is being caused by the game or by steam?
I see some dumps from steam in the list I sent you but I'm not sure they're related to this issue honestly... Moreover I didn't get any dumps on the fresh install which makes me think there's more to it...

My main question in this troubleshoot remains : why am I not getting any stop code or dump? If a game makes my computer crash to BSOD, I should theorically get a stop code and a dump and be able to find out which process or driver is crashing...

I should also try to run another intensive game to see if it crashes or not... Or maybe just a benchmark tool?

You mention that you had no stop code when the system crashed with a "BSOD"? Could you please post a screenshot of when the system crashes again? If there is no stop code then you probably didn't actually have a BSOD but some kind some of other error.

Sorry for the delay but I finally have some time to troubleshoot this mess.

I just got a new blue screen. I disabled auto restart so I could see the stop code 0xc000021a.

Unfortunately it stayed at 0% for several minutes before I restart it manually. Still no dump file.

Let it finish before you restart it please. Even if it takes 10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure I left the computer a good 15/20 minutes before restarting it manually.
Before, it was set to auto restart and I never saw the stop code, probably because it fails to create it, so it restarted straight away.

I haven't been able to play very long before getting any BSOD today until I lowered my in game settings from Ultra to Medium.
I'm currently playing, without any issue (finger crossed).

I don't know if this is useful but I changed my main monitor 4 months ago from a 34 inches (3440 x 1440) to a 38 inches (3840x1600).
I played for a few weeks without any issue that I can remember of.
Now i'm starting to think one of the component may have a hard time with the new resolution/load.

This is useful information. The larger higher resolution monitors do need more power from the system, PSU and Video Card.

This being a laptop, it could be generating a heat issue with the extra power draw.

I forgot to mention the case, which is an Asus Helios with 7 Corsair LL fans (3x 12mm on the front/intake, 3x 12mm on the AiO, and 1x 14mm on the back). Everything is controlled by an Aquatuning OCTO.

I attached an hwinfo log on this post : BSOD, no stop code, no dump, no errors in event viewer. Need help.
If it related to heat issue, I think it should be visible on this log.
