Here's my DMP in txt format -

071113-7940-01.dmp 11/07/2013 20:54:01 INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x0000003d fffff880`0af994e0 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 fffff880`0103178e mv91xx.sys mv91xx.sys+3178e x64 ntoskrnl.exe+75c00 C:\Windows\Minidump\071113-7940-01.dmp 8 15 7601 276,720 11/07/2013 20:55:22

When I try to run the ntoskrnl.exe file it says it's missing or corrupt.

The mv91xx.sys file is something to do with my marvell controller which I updated yet it still appears.

I have ran memory tests, hdd tests, diagnostics, installed updates, although i haven't updated my asus bios i'm not sure how to.

Any ideas?

Update - Just tried to do a windows update but can't because of a missing or corrupt file. I'm guessing this relates to my BSOD so I really need to fix this any help is great!

Hi,

For that, you'll want to head right over here (Windows Update - Sysnative Forums) and help will arrive for you when it can.

Make sure you read the posting instructions for that forum - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/4736-windows-update-forum-posting-instructions.html

Regards,

Patrick

Okay. thanks a lot for that link! However I think the update error is being caused by the fact I'm blue screening because of the ntoskrnl.exe and the mv91xx.sys - However I'll still take a look!

If you'd like your dump file(s) analyzed, please refer to the following thread and reply accordingly:

Nobody has read my DMP or anything else yet...

Hi,

For us to read and analyse your dumps, we need you to follow the posting instructions. We use special programs and procedures to find out the information we need, so the next version you gave in your first post is sadly not enough.

If you follow the BSOD Posting Instructions, we'll have all the files we will need.

Regards,
Stephen

I can't actually get into Windows now anyway so there's no chance...

Hey there,

I there may be a misunderstanding here. Sorry about that! Let's start on a clean sheet.

Firstly, can you boot into Windows at all? Can you boot into Safe Mode - When you turn the PC on, press F8 repeatedly until you get the option to select Safe Mode - Start your computer in safe mode - Microsoft Windows Help

If you can't boot into either Safe Mode or Normal mode, please let me know and we can focus our efforts on getting you past that stage.

If/when you boot into Windows, I need you to folllow some posting instructions. This may be were the misunderstanding stemmed from. In post #3 (https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...h-mv91xx-sys-ntoskrnl-exe-help.html#post50157), Patrick asked you to follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions, which are designed to help you fix your windows update problem.

I see you followed these correctly and Richard is helping you out here: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-because-missing-files-blue-screen-death.html. That's great.

For help with your BSODs, we need you to follow the BSOD Posting Instructions as described in post #5 in this thread. This will automatically gather data and collect the DMP files for us to analyse properly. There's no real way for us to help you without you following those posting instructions.

Any questions, let me know. I'm sure Patrick and I can get you up and running again :)

Stephen

Right now I'm in safe mode okay it might eventually come up with a BSOD though. I can't get into non safe mode though.

Crashing in Safe Mode is a sign of hardware problems being the root cause of your crashes. Do you have access to another PC? I need you to download some hardware diagnostics tools to test some hardware.

RAM - Please run Memtest86+ to check your RAM. A tutorial on how to do this is available here: Test RAM With Memtest86+ - Sysnative Forums

HDD - Check your HDD for errors using Seatools. A tutorial for this is available here: Hard Drive (HDD) Diagnostics - Sysnative Forums

Stephen

Thanks for the links! I ran the memtest and I got no errors at all, however I can't do the HDD test as I don't have any CD-R's left. Is the seatools test for my HDD and SSD? Will it look at both or just my HDD, just wondering.

Hi,

Seatools is for your HDD as you cannot essentially run diagnostic software on an SSD. Given you mentioned you have an SSD, please ensure you have the latest firmware for it.

Patrick

I booted the Seatools test and it could not find any hard drive. I'm thinking of purchasing another HDD to see if my current HDD is faulty. Should I check all the SATA and power connections to the HDD to see if it could be that also?? Even though in Windows my HDD and SSD both appear. :S any ideas?

Yes, checking connections and re-seating cables is a great idea. What model HDD do you have? start > search > Device Manager > click drop down on Disk Drives and paste model # here.

Patrick
