- BSOD: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE

My Laptop is stuck in this endless cycle of: Diagnosing PC, Automatic Repair and then sends me to a blue screen telling me; Your PC did not start correctly. Restarting your PC can sometimes fix the problem.

Restarting did not fix the problem. So I went to Advanced Options and selected Troubleshoot.

I tried system restore but that started the problems because it never got completed. Then it wouldnt let me undo the system restore due to some error. Now it says there are no restore points at all.

[Startup Repair] just leads to the inevitable, BSOD: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE

[Command Prompt] opens but SFC doesnt work. It starts off like its working by showing: Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Then shortly after it reads as follows:
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

[Startup Settings] it used to open windows in safe mode, but that doesn't even work now. Just eventually takes me back to the BSOD: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE.

I haven't tried to "Reset This PC" yet due to bookmarks I need to retrieve from AVAST SAFEZONE Browser. So I am leaving that option as a last resort, if it works. From what I have read many people have this exact same problem after they attempted to reset their PC.

I am trying to be as succinct as possible. Just trying to give some history here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

as this is no typical BSOD / Win crashes
it's not the correct location to ask for help.

However the message "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" indicates win can't load the correct driver for NTFS/ AHCI or (because) the partitiontable is damaged.
Win8.1 always comes on an UEFI-System, along with Secureboot enabled in Bios, otherwise it won't boot and you get a message from your Bios.
Given that, the partitiontable is damaged.
TestDisk - Partition Recovery and File Undelete might be the chance to inspect and probably correct the failure.
