A lot of the time avoiding viruses involves common sense in the fact that as long as you are visiting dodgy websites and download anything with a big green download button on it, you will probably be safe without a real time anti virus, obviously they can help but I find they cause more harm than good, sometimes viruses can get through but using a lot of common sense is mostly enough to avoid them. You can invest in an anti virus program by all means but I don't bother with ones, especially paid ones (Although I do recommend MSE).

Click to expand... You'll enjoy it if you choose it! Recently I had access to an ESET license, and I have no complaints. I am usually the guy that warns against 3rd party antiviruses given all of the problems I see them cause, so I was thoroughly impressed with ESET. I personally myself on my home system don't use a 3rd party anitivirus. I use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes free for weekly/monthly scans. I will always argue that regardless of the antivirus you have, if you aren't browsing properly or taking proper malware precaution methods, you will always get infected. Regards, Patrick
