No. On the contrary, the drive has been empty every time it's gotten BSOD. The computer typically is in idle and hasn't had the kb or mouse touched in the previous 24 hrs.

Do you only get a BSOD when using the CD/DVD drive?

Is this the reason you reinstalled XP or did this just start happening after the install?

Try disconnecting the cd/dvd drive by unplugging the data and power cables from it.

No, this pc was gifted to me, and the owner wanted to dispose of her hard drive her own way. I put the drive in, and reloaded the system.

I will try to unplug the dvd burner. And keep an eye on it.

OK, I am back. It ran for several days, then blue screened on me this morning.

IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 805d000c, parameter2 000000ff, parameter3 00000008, parameter4 805d000c.

It appears to be an unrelated blue screen, but I think we turned on some logging tools, that might help us determine more about this crash. This error was logged in the event logs, but when I click for details, it says there are none on line for this code.

Can you follow thes xp posting instructions again as we need the dump file.
