[SOLVED] Boot time suddenly very slow - takes some 5 min to boot :(

Hi all !
Suddenly my boot time on W7 is so slow that it takes up to 5 min.
Even after boot, the HD keeps blinking for a while and can not do anything for some more minutes...
Can someone give me some advice ?

info : I already did scan with CC Cleaner, Avast, malwarebytes

Device : Compaq CQ71-420ED windows 7 Home Premium

Your HDD appears to be failing and overheating. Please urgently backup your data and replace the failing drive. If you have the budget, with an SSD.

But the HDD is a total loss you think ?

Yes, some are corrupt. That's why I said you should urgently backup.

Can I replace it with a 500gb SSD ? or what do you propose to do?
Do I have to install everything back on my laptop again ? Windows and all ? Or can I take a full image backup from my laptop on another drive and after replacing the HDD, reflash it ?

A 500 GB SSD would be ideal. I would recommend a fresh install (backup all the important items onto an external hard drive if you have one). I would advise against making an image because of the damage that may be present due to the bad HDD.

Back again.
Did some selfcheck with HD Tune and had only 1 error. It isn't that bad, right ? Can I fix this error perhaps ? Or do you say replace it anyway ?

New problem :
yesterday I did total backup of all my files. Also I ran a disc check overnight to possibly fix that block error from above.
In the morning all seemed ok and I could enter my password and boot OK and work on it.
After some time I closed the laptop and restarted it and I could not boot normaly...there was a bar underneath saying loading files and then it came to a next screen.
There's a startup repair running now for the second time, since the first time it didn't work and directed me to the HP help setup...
Ans now the startup repair keeps on running....


Can you guide me on that furtheron pls ?

EDIT : laptop rebooted BUT to the same procedure from startup repair. So doesn't seem to work....
