Bluetooth missing (Windows 8.1)

Ever since I did a BIOS update, the Bluetooth is gone dead. Device Manager shows all is well, but I have lost the system tray icon and I can't discover/pair devices. I have also lost the ability to send files by the content menu and it throws me an error about some network issue. (I'll post it soon).
My laptop is as follows:
Acer E 15 (E5-573-32JT)

What prompted the BIOS update? I never recommend updating the BIOS unless the update addresses a specific problem I am having. Otherwise, "if not broke, don't fix it!"

I did the update because it improved performance. That's what it said.. Never tested.
