[SOLVED] black screen with cursor after login

I turned on my laptop like 2 days ago and it installed a windows update and after signing in I just get a black screen with a movable cursor. I've had this problem twice before, always after a windows update and have been able to fix them before using system restore points but I've tried it twice already with two different restore points and I still have the problem. I've looked up some suggestions online and I've tried many of them such as uninstalling display drivers, running explorer.exe in task manager, chkdsk, startup repair etc. I ran dism and sfc /scannow and I get a message saying corruption detected but it was unable to fix it. I will attach the CBS log if it helps. Doubting this is the cause of the black screen but I have no idea what else to do and I really don't want to reset my whole pc.
My first post so sorry if it's the wrong section, was unsure of where to post.

I just created a new user account following another forum and signing into the new account has no problems so I guess I have a problem with my original user account if that helps

Well I just decided to move everything from the broken user profile to the new one I made. Kinda messy but it works I guess.
