I am fortunate to live in a metro area that straddles the Missouri River and there are 100s of miles of paved and crushed rock trails on top of the levee systems and throughout "bluffs" in the area. In fact, I am heading out today for a bit of a ride myself - though certainly not as exciting as that one was.
When I bought this bike it was the first time I rode with clip-in peddles that hold your feet to the peddle so you can add power on the back up stroke. I asked the salesman, "How long does it take to get used to having your feet clamped into the peddles?"
He said, "Two falls."
He was right.
At least with cleats (the part on the bottom of your bike shoes) and clip-in peddles, you can "kick-out" - assuming you remember to before falling over. That guy had his feet taped to the peddles!
Anyway, that a cool. Thanks again.
