Hi all, I’m new to the forum and don’t really know if I’m in the right place, but I just wanted to see if anyone has experience with something like this.
My audio has been popping/crackling since I built my computer, and I can’t figure out why. I’ve tried a tool called LatencyMon which has told me that DPC latency spikes for dxgkrnl.sys pretty often, but I don’t know if this is a red herring. The issue happens when playing games, watching videos, and talking over Discord. Sometimes, my games also stutter a bit or crash. I don’t know if this is really a driver issue or something hardware related.
I was recently made aware of the Windows Performance Toolkit, but I’m not really sure what I’m looking for when I load a trace in the Analyzer tool. I wanted to know if anyone with more experience could try to help me narrow down the issue. I haven’t provided too many specifics in this post, so feel free to request any info you need. I can post test results, traces, and I’m willing to try pretty much anything.
This is a highly specific issue I think, so not sure if it’s even possible to figure out, but if anyone was curious and wanted to try some different things to help me fix or narrow down the issue, I’d appreciate it a lot.
