[SOLVED] AppXSVC .tmp files: cannot delet them coz they are still opened?

Hi,

While trying to delete several APPX.lotsofnumbersandletters.tmp files, which have been lingering for days now, I keep getting "unable to perform the op coz file is still opened in AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC). Close file and try again."

Tried closing file: does not work
Tried shutting down wsappx: not able to (sc stop "AppXSvc" gives FAILED 1052)
Tried to force delete the .tmp files: command does not work on these files
Tried reset and later repair Store: no change

What else can I try to get rid of these files please?

1. Have a valid backup of your drives.

Try deleting them in safe mode.

This is a tool I use at times. It also shows you what's locking the file you're working with.

LockHunter is a free 64/32 bit tool to delete files blocked by any processes

Super duper . . deleting in safe mode worked (and of course: why didn't I think of that ;-(

I'll keep the Lockhunter in mind!
