Good evening all,

Seems I've fallen victim to this blasted REPLICATE_OC upgrade error too while trying to move on up in the world from 7 to 10. After attempting an uninstall of my anti-virus/firewall and clean boot, still a big ol' no-go. Ran thru all steps in sticky thread. CBS.zip uploaded direct to post, and the SFCfix log file is below. Seems you cats are miracle workers on resolving this per Reddit and my own glancing thru previous threads addressing the same topic. Hopefully I can trouble you for one more of such magic works!

Summary of system specs:
ASRock 990fx Killer MB w/ AMD FX-6300 (no OC or anything like that in place)
480 GB SSD w/ 280 GB free
32 GB RAM
Nvidia 1060 3GB

SFC /scannow DID report errors but "could not fix some of them". Ran SURT regardless for sake of being thorough (and I'd rather get that long wait out of the way now). Scans were performed in a clean-boot with some hardware disabled in Device Manager (per the earlier suggestion I found on MS forums to try installing from a clean boot with GPU, printer, and sound disabled). Not sure if this is pertinent info, but I figure the more details you have, the better.

I did utilize my Win7 DVD as instructed by SFCFix. Looks like it helped some but not all.

Hoping my lovely 712 SURT corruptions aren't making this look like a lost cause. :( I see that it's very much on the high side compared to others.

Because of the sheer number of errors I have, I have elected to attempt the "upgrade in-place" method of reinstalling win7 outlined here and here. I left that running overnight and will resume when I get home.

I'll report success or failure (and if failed, hopefully I can redo my CBS logs with FAR fewer errors in them and let you cats take a stab at it then).

@softwaremaniac Unfortunately it's a no-go, though it DID get farther in the process. when I was getting 8007001f, it would dump at about 11% of "Working on updates." This time, it got to 25% then threw error code 0x80070005 - 0x2000A - The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase during PREPARE_FIRST_BOOT operation.

So it seems I fixed SOMETHING but not everything.

New log files forthcoming. Depends on how long CheckSURT takes.

Interesting . . . . SFC found no integrity violations. SFCFix found zero issues. CBS uploaded to Google drive.

Please run FRST:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Your drive may be having issues:

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.

Acknowledged. This joker is brand new, so I hope it's not a dud! The only pink lined attribute is temperature, but I do have a fan specifically on my hard drives (intake pulling cool air in from front).

As for the self-test log, here you go. Looks like it's fine.
"Test #", "Type", "Status", "% Completed"," Lifetime hours", "LBA of the first error"
1, "Extended offline", "Completed without error", "100%", "78", "-"

Alright. Requires a reboot. Doing so now.

Seems it's got to install . . . . 165 updates after I clicked restart, so miiiiiight be a while.

Stages 4 of 5 have completed without issue. Still gonna be a bit on the free space (at 10 million of 77 million). But so far so good. I will update again tomorrow, as it has gotten quite late.

Well, looks pretty good overall. Seen worse.
