Hi all,

I have had this issue for a while now and it's driving me insane - I almost can't play games anymore due to the stutter.

Specs:

http://speccy.piriform.com/results/lRkZaseQrtqnSXeL433tUkT
  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5 9600K @ 3.70GHz
  • 16.0GB Single-Channel Unknown @ 1200MHz (17-17-17-39)
  • ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4
  • 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (Gigabyte)
  • 223GB Apacer AS340 240GB (SSD)
    447GB Crucial CT480BX500SSD1 (SSD)
    931GB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 (SATA )

I have tried:
  • Reinstalling Windows 10
  • Overclocking/Underclocking CPU and RAM. Increasing voltage on both.
  • Reset default BIOS
  • Have tried using just a single stick of RAM
  • Unplugging drives that aren't C:
  • Disabling audio drivers
  • Updating drivers
Best way to reproduce:
  • If I have a download going, the stutters become far more frequent and for longer. It has got to the point where I can't simultaneously download while gaming nor can I install an application/game and do ANYTHING else on PC.
  • When I pause a download... The download can take a few seconds to stop and every application stops responding.

I have attached LatencyMon print out and a xperf Trace file.

I really appreciate any assistance here, it's driving me insane. Cheers!

Hi!

Try this:

Try this:

1) Find your pci string in "Device manager, Sound, Video and game controllers", "High Definition Audio Device", properties, details tab, Property: Parent, Value: Your-PCIString

realtekpci.png

2) Open regedit and "navigate" here: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\Your-PCIString\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties

Obviously, you have to substitute the letters "Your-PCIString", in the above path, with the pci string you found at point one.

3) Change the MSISupported value, from 0 to 1. If it doesn't exist, create a new dword (32-bit value), name it MSISupported, give it 1 as value.

msisupported.png

4) Reboot and see if the problem disappeared.

If it didn't work:
  • In the command prompt (admin), type (copy/paste)
    Code:
    cleanmgr /sageset:1
A cleanmgr window will be presented, in which you can choose the items to be deleted.
I'd select them all, but you can choose to avoid some options.
To start the cleanup, you need to launch this other command:
    Code:
    cleanmgr /sagerun:1
And the cleanup will start: wait until it finishes.
  • Download and install iobit driver booster free.
Open it, click tools, click "Clean unplugged device data", scan, clean, close.
  • In the command prompt (admin), type (copy/paste)
    Code:
    pnputil -e > "%userprofile%\desktop\pnputil-enumeration.txt"
  • In the command prompt (admin), type (copy/paste)
    Code:
    dism /online /get-drivers /format:table > "%userprofile%\desktop\dism-getdrivers.txt"
  • Download regseeker, unzip it, click regseeker.exe.
    Click applications and startup.
Click services, click the information header to sort the items, enlarge the headers so we can see the items, take a (png/jpg) screenshot and save it on your desktop.
Click drivers, click the information header to sort the items, enlarge the headers so we can see the items, take a (png/jpg) screenshot and save it on your desktop.
  • Download nirsoft shellexview, unzip it, click shexview.exe, take a screenshot and save it on your desktop.
  • Zip up screenshots, pnputil and dism logs.
  • Run the bsod collection app.
  • Send the logs (produced in previous two points) here.

Opps should have mentioned - This is a fresh install and I'm halfway through updating.

currently updating windows etc.

Any other suggestions?

The logs displayed BSODs and unexpected shutdowns and restarts.
One bugcheck was 1A.
The log collector did not collect any dump files.

1) Please make sure that Windows is activated

2) Search for: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP > (if < 1.5 GB post a share link using one drive, drop box, or google drive)

3) Turn off Windows fast startup:

4) Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce BSOD
To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.

5) Run Memtest86 version 8.4 (or newer version if available) for four passes.
Repeat the test so that eight passes are performed.

Use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
In case there are any problems uploading images use share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)

Memtest86 has a feature to produce a text report.
Please post this in addition to the images.

6) If Windows fails to upgrade run setupdiag:

7) Open administrative command prompt (ACP) and type or copy and paste:
8) sfc /scannow
9) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
10) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
11) sfc /scannow
12) chkdsk /scan
13) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
14) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
15) wmic recoveros get autoreboot
16) wmic recoveros get DebugInfoType
17) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

18) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

Have just fully updated windows and activated. Stutter still there after restart, I'll do the above logs shortly. Thanks!
