Run it from an elevated command prompt.
and what does that mean? run as admin?
in any event my computer was nailed by a power surge when lightning struck. my ethernet is dead even with reinstallation of drivers. my sound jacks in the front are dead too. my sound is jittery and also stutters. comcast came to replaced the modem because it got fried. i believe the surge may have come through the ethernet line.i do have lat-mon and shows usbport.sys running wild. . .

by the way, i disabled the usb drivers and uninstalled them but that did nothing. also, made sure throttle was terminated and cpu ran 100% min and max. i think the hardware is crippled and doesn't allow for fluent operations. but suggestions are cool.

Hi Tom Sawyer. :welcome:

You should have the trace file on your desktop.
Attach/upload it here, using a web service like drop box, google drive, MS OneDrive, and so forth.
Provide also some other information, see this thread (click) (after the WPA installation/instructions).
