Hi,

Recently I have noticed that I get the popup below on most webpages in IE 11. I click the two options "Allow" and "Allow for all websites" and it does not go away. Did not have this issue a few weeks ago. I only use IE11 periodically.

Below are my currently loaded add-ons for IE11.

ActiveX filtering is off. I know Flash Player is built into IE and Edge. I have tried a Windows update, with no change. I also added a new standard profile checking IE and Edge and there is no difference. I have found other references to this problem on the internet but with no solution. Firefox works just fine, but I find IE11 works on some pages that Firefox will not.

Also tried uninstalling the latest Windows Update relating to Adobe Flash with no luck.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi xilolee,

All settings are at default....I don't play with them at all. I also did a "Reset Internet Explorer" and "delete all personal settings" a few times without any change..

I had read that if you go to "Tools" and check "ActiveX Filtering" the popup does not show up...and this does work. See below:

The problem is that Flash is still not working in IE11. When I go to the page below I get a placeholder where the flash object should be.

This is how it looks in Firefox:

Any other ideas?

Hi xilolee,

I had similar problems with Microsoft Edge in the previous stable build of Windows 10, and many of my Windows apps did not work. When creating a new profile things worked ok, so I copied all my stuff to the new profile. It seemed I had to do this several times, before I finally got fed up, and "refreshed" Windows, but that is a pain as well.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this flash issue? It was fine recently...as is likely due to some problem with a problematic Windows update.

You can see in my picture it says 22.0.0.209, while in yours says 22.0.0, even though I saw it is displayed correctly on the fourth post (in another part of the adobe website).
Could you re-post a picture with all addons (loaded and unloaded)? (select the adobe plugin, while you do it)

I did the same and this is what I get now (just after the reboot, nothing appeared):

I think you should remove all the addons that are not MS and adobe, even if they say they are disabled.

If you want to identify the culprit, you can first remove trend micro addons, then restart msie (or the machine); then F5net, restart; then classic shell, restart; then java, restart.
(You can obviously try to disable them in your preferred order, that was only an example.)

I have uninstalled my antivirus software Trend Micro Internet Security, Classic Shell, and Java with no effect. I still have the adobe flash player popup.

See my IE addons:

It seems that these programs are likely not the problem, and I am going to reinstall them. Any other ideas?

(You could have used autoruns, hijackthis, ccleaner, wise care 365, etc, to remove the addons)
Re-try the MSIE (complete) reset, reboot and see if addons list will be blank.
Otherwise, remove all addons, reboot and re-try.

Thanks for the tip on autoruns. I have used it and uninstalled a few things, and now have IE11 pared down as much as I can get it. I still have the adobe flash player pop-up. This is after a reset and a reboot. See all add-ons below:

Let's try to run this command from an elevated command prompt, reboot your machine, then post the result of the HostsContent - netsh-reset.txt (that should appear) on your desktop (or upload it here):
Warning
If you have set a static IP in internet protocol version 4 (tcp/ipV4) properties of your ethernet/wireless network adapter, you'll have to set it anew, after this command or after the reboot.
The command is the following:

(type c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts && echo\ && echo\ && netsh interface ipv4 reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh interface ipv6 reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh interface tcp reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh interface httpstunnel reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh interface portproxy reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh winsock reset && echo\ && echo\ && netsh winhttp reset) > "c:\users\%username%\desktop\HostsContent - netsh-reset.txt"
If something shouldn't work, run the commands one by one:
