Hiya, I'm new here, & believe this is the part of the forum for this thread. I just ran the sfcfixit.exe. Over the past year or so, my computer has had issues with freezes, BSODs, Kernel debuggers - I have repeatedly had to run start-up repairs from my Re-install disc. This past time I did so, ran a chkdsk which could not log the files, but now sfc stops @ 27% verification stating that due to Win resource protections, it cannot run. I run it in an elevated cmd, safe-mode, so I ran the sfcfixit & got this note, although it failed to create a zipfile.

At this point, I'm pretty sure I need to update to Win 10, although I know of its various issues, but my computer is running extremely slow, & I cannot seem to fix it + even working on it is becoming a pain, as it will randomly freeze for minutes/BSOD. Any help or further instructions into how to delve into this matter/fix are greatly appreciated.

List of error codes received during current fix - UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME - used cmd to fix; issues with hard drive test code 0142, 0146, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Hello and welcome,

Create a backup of all your important files first, if not done already.

Next, scan with CHKDSK:
ChkDsk Scan
  • Click on Start - All programs - Accessories.
  • Rightclick on Command-prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, typ chkdsk into it, then press enter.
  • Wait for this to complete.
  • Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop.
  • Rightclick

ListChkdskResult.exe and select Run as administrator. Notepad will open the file ListChkdskResult.txt on completion. (The file ListChkdskResult.txt can be found on your desktop.)
  • Copy and paste its content in your next reply.
