Good morning,
first of all excuse me for my English.
I own an HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Service pack 1 - 8GB ram.

After the great success obtained on the thread "Error 0x80073701 - 0x80070490 in monthly cumulative update" I would like to expose 2 problems.

Windows Update keeps me proposing these 2 updates:

- Update for Windows 7 for x64 systems (KB2952664)

- Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64 systems

Now they are both wrong:

KB2952664 in error 80073701

Internet Explorer 11 in error 9C48.

Can you find a solution ??

Thank you, anyway.

Remove Update Manually
1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:2952664

4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

Search with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)

  • Download FRST64 and save it to the Desktop.
  • Open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • Type or copy/paste the following command:

Code:
  dism /online /Get-FeatureInfo /FeatureName:TFTP|find "completed"
  • Wait for the command to finish with "The operation completed successfully" If it does not, please continue with the steps.
  • Close the window "Administrator: Command Prompt"
  • Execute FRST/FRST64 right click on the icon
    FRST.jpg
and choose Run as Administrator. Make sure all other windows are closed.
(When the tool opens for the first time, you must click Yes on the disclaimer.)
    FRST_SearchRegistry.png
  • On the Search box (1) type or copy and paste the following text:
    KB2952664
  • Press the Search Registry button.
  • Wait for the search to finish FRST will produce a log called (SearchReg.txt) in the same directory the Tool is run from.
  • Please attach the log to your post.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply and try installing KB2952664.
6. If the update fails, attach CBS.log.

Update successful !!!

You're a great one!

Now, if I do not break you too much, I remind you of the update of IE 11 in cod 9C48.

Thanks

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following commands. Make sure you press Enter after each.

pkgmgr /UP:Microsoft-Windows-IE-Hyphenation-Parent-Package-Italian~31bf3856ad364e35~~~10.2.9200.16437.mum
pkgmgr /UP:Microsoft-Windows-IE-Spelling-Parent-Package-Italian~31bf3856ad364e35~~~10.2.9200.16437.mum

Let me know the results.

Ah, sorry about that.

Step#1 - Uninstall Packages

2. You should now be at C:\Windows\system32>
3. Type cd.. and hit enter
4. You should now be at C:\Windows>
5. Type cd servicing\packages and hit enter
6. You should now be at C:\Windows\servicing\Packages>
7. Copy/Paste each of the following lines (one at a time) into the command-prompt window and hit enter after each.
pkgmgr /UP:Microsoft-Windows-IE-Hyphenation-Parent-Package-Italian~31bf3856ad364e35~~~10.2.9200.16437
pkgmgr /UP:Microsoft-Windows-IE-Spelling-Parent-Package-Italian~31bf3856ad364e35~~~10.2.9200.16437

If you go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off, which Internet Explorer version do you have listed?
Try removing a checkmark next to it and wait for the process to complete.
You will likely be asked to reboot. Please do so. Let me know when all that is complete.

Note: If you use IE, please switch to a different browser for a bit while we fix IE.
