Hello.

We have Windows 7 Ultimate x86. It didn't update. If the "Check for updates" button is clicked, the 80070003 error is shown. Found out that %windir%\servicing\Packages folder was missing. Created it, copied the contents of the same folder from working Windows 7 instance. After doing all the steps of Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions Windows Update seems to work, but SFCFix still shows corruptions:

Code:
SFCFix version 3.0.0.0 by niemiro.Start time: 2018-01-30 09:48:56.945
Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - x86

Re: Error 80070003 right after clicking "Check for updates". Windows 7 Ultimate x86.

Hello and welcome to Sysnative!
To be honest this is a very large number of corruptions and reading about the whole Packages folder being missing, I'm not convinced that this is the only problem. We can try to fix it, but it will not be fast and I would therefore recommend a repair install: In-Place Upgrade Install Windows (Windows 7 / Vista)

Let me know what is your decision.

Since everything seems to work fine for now, let's try to fix the number of corruptions.

Okay, before we start:

1. Are you interested in upgrading this machine to Windows 10? That way everything would be fixed more quickly.
2. Did you copy the packages folder from a Win7 x86 machine?

Hello.

So sorry for such a late reply! Couldn't retrieve my password. In the end, upgrading to Windows 10 resolved the issue. Thank you!
