Hi!

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.


  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, run SURT and attach CheckSUR.log.

Hi I followed your instructions, but my computer did not generate a new text file.
This is all I got from dragging SFCFix.zip on to SFCFix.exe :

I drag the .zip onto the .exe it opens sfcfix.exe and says this " No new updates available at this time." and does nothing else.

yes they're all on the desktop.

Okay i can confirm It does not behave any differently in safe mode.

I drag the zip onto the exe and it begins to process the script i suppose you could say, then just tells me no updates are available at this time, with the blinking cursor below as if its ready to process more, but it doesnt do anything.

No, that's the problem. I'm stuck between step 6 and 7. it just sits there, it does not execute the same as if i were to just run SFCFix alone.

Could you use a software like OBS recording studio to record the exact steps you take? It would help me in diagnosing the issue.

I'm not sure if I'm trying to do all that, as I am struggling to follow your "simple" instructions.

I followed your instructions to a T, the most confusing part is when you say to not rename the file from SFCFix.zip,
but when i go to Save As it comes up default file name: SFCFix, not SFCFix.zip.

Regardless I have tried re-downloading it various times without changing the file name, as well as changing it to SFCFix.zip.

Yield the same results each time, when I drag the SFCFix.zip onto SFCFix.exe it opens the application and just tells me no updates are available, and it does not generate a .txt file like it does when i run SFCFix.exe alone.

That's normal because your extensions are hidden. Let me know if you get a different result with these instructions:

SFCFix Fix

This fix is very specific for this computer. Trying this fix on your own computer might damage your computer. If you are after assistance, create a new thread, and you will be assisted shortly.


Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and move the executable on your Desktop.
Download SFCFix.zip (which has the sourced files) from here and move the archive to your Desktop

Note: Make sure that the file is named SFCFix.zip, do not rename it.
Save any work you have open, and close every programs
Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it

SFCFix will launch, let it complete
Once done, a file will appear on your Desktop, called SFCFix.txt
Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply

This is the best I could get, I was only able to get it to finish its script if i dragged the Zip into the exe after it was opened?

Hi it finally finished the SURT again, not sure why it has been taking 2+ hours, doubling my gpu %, and a strange expand.exe by LZ expansion utility kept running as a strange process while trying to run SURT?

Anyway here's the CheckSUR.log i believe.
