WU 12 25 17.JPGGood afternoon,

Having moved recently, I didn't notice WU wasn't working until this afternoon. Everything has been fine for months since WU was repaired here in January 2017.
See attachment "Installed Updates Nov 2017".

SFC scan did not find integrity violations. SURT installed twice and run twice. Log says No errors. BITS restarted to Automatic-Delayed twice. Still have red shield warning and WU home page not responding.

Can't get OneDrive to upload CBS folder so I'll post that shortly.

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: [Win7x86] Sudden Red Shield - "Check for updates on your computer"

Hello and welcome to Sysnative!

Okay, let's try reseting WU Components:

Download the following file.
Create a new folder on your Desktop.
Extract the file you've downloaded to a new folder on your Desktop you've created in the previous step.
Right-click ResetWUEng.cmd file and select Run as Administrator.
A windows will appear prompting you if you want to continue with the process. Please press Y.
Another menu will appear. Press 2: Reset Windows Update Components.
Verify that you have selected number 2 and hit Enter.
Wait until the process is complete.
You should see the message: The operation completed successfully.
Press any key to continue. . .

Close the window and reboot.

Try updating once again. If it fails, please attach CBS.log

Thank you so much softwaremaniac! WU home page is normal again and latest important updates installed.
