Hello
I am new to this forum and i hope someone can help me with my problem. I tried the usual tools like sfc and surt to fix the corruption but now i am stuck.
I hope i am doing everything correct with the attachments. Please find attached the two files from sfcfix and surt, as well as the link to the CBS Folder zip.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Conner

Re: Windows 7 x64 update problems

Hello,
i could grab the necessary files from a friends network but did not have access to the computer with the problem so far. I have downloaded some example sfcfix.zip files from the forum here and i hope i can create my own one for a quick fix.
Thanks for getting back to this thread,
Conner

Re: Windows 7 x64 update problems

Are you having problems installing Windows Updates? I ask because those hypenation files are usually not an issue.

Re: Windows 7 x64 update problems

Yes.
The computer is/was linked to a wsus instance. The new monthly rollup of january was stuck. I think someone shut it down while it was in the middle of the updates. The computer is an emission test device at a car dealer and very critical. It is used every day and several connected tools and programs on it have software license keys that rely on mac, hw serial and sid. A basic reinstall could be done quickly but enabling all the additional programs, waiting for software license keys from third party companies bevor i can update them will probably take 2 days or more. Unfortunately these updates are only available inside the company Intranet so i cannot do it at home over night. At the moment i unlinked it from wsus and i have set it to do no updates.
If you see a chance to fix the system i will try to establish a vpn link to the machine and have them leave it on over night.
Thanks a lot,
Conner

Re: Windows 7 x64 update problems

OK, when time permits, please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Re: Windows 7 x64 update problems

Hello
I could run your fix file. Thank you very much. It has done something but the problems remain. I cleared the Windows update, ran windowsupdate again, ran sfc /scannow, ran System update readiness tool again and at the moment i do a deep antivirus scan with 2 seperate tools.
Please find attached the latest logs after the fix. It would be nice if you could have a look again.
Thanks,
Conner

While we work on your issue, please don't move ahead as we weren't done yet with fixes and this will just make the fixing process take longer. Please attach your latest CheckSUR.log so I can take a look.
