Every time I try to open and use Windows System Defrag, it closes. When I try to start it via the command line, it fails, as well. I tried to run chkdsk, but it said it was unable to run while the system was active, so it scheduled chkdsk to run on restart. It failed. I ran `sfc /scannow` to detmerine the error. I got the message that several corrupt files were found, but could not be fixed. I started a topic on BleepingComputer about the topic (
Both chkdsk and defrag fail - Windows 7). Upon their recommendation, I ran SeaTools to check the health of the drive. My drive successfully passed both the short and long tests. I ran SFCFix on the advice of the BleepingComputer forum. Below is the result of the scan:
