A little history:
I have IE10 installed and I am unable to install IE11 either using Windows Update or the standalone install package.
I believe I've narrowed down the problem using CheckSUR (See Below).

Problem: What I cannot seem to do is get CheckSur to fix the problem even though I have the appropriate .MSU, .CAB and .manifest files.

Per the instructions in another thread I navigated the Registry to locate the key to determine which KB Update Package (KB2962872) it was missing.
From the Microsoft Web Site, I downloaded KB2962872 for IE10 - IE10-Windows6.1-KB2962872-x64.msu
I've extracted the cab (IE10-Windows6.1-KB2962872-x64.cab) and the manifest file (amd64_microsoft-windows-scripting-jscript9_31bf3856ad364e35_10.2.9200.17028_none_c238984e2dfd3952.manifest)

I've put all of these files everywhere I can think of and have re-ran the DISM Utility and always get the same results.

This is what I found to be installed on my PC:
C-Windows-CheckSur.JPGC-Windows-Temp-CheckSur.JPG

I've put the files in each of the manifest and packages folders. I've also created new Winsxs, packages and manifest folders in various locations.

Can someone please tell me the correct location of where I should put a copy of either the .MSU, .CAB or .manifest file?

Thank you!!!

Re: CheckSUR - Unavailable repair files

I had ran that program yesterday and it did not complete - said something about could not complete upload. Then the prompt closed and I did not see much information in the lot. I just ran it again (completed very quickly) and the output is below.

The SFCFix output shows that the script was not used.
Please follow the instructions message #2 carefully.
If it fails again, take a screenshot of the message you get. Read this on how to take a screenshot.

Re: CheckSUR - Unavailable repair files

Very good.
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log in your next reply.

Does this mean we are good?

Re: CheckSUR - Unavailable repair files

For reference, this is the command I ran "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /Scanhealth"

Well, the SURT log looks good.
Are you able to install IE11 now ?

Great. I will mark this thread as solved.

All the best.
