[SOLVED] [7SP1 x64] Can't update my laptop (...but Windows Update service is running...)

hi

today i wanted to update Win7 (preinstalled) on my (old) laptop "Packard-Bell TSX62".
I started the update process by clicking on the button "search for updates" (see screenshot: "tsx62_W7_update_A.JPG").
But then a message box appeared: "Currently you can not search for updates with Windows Update because the
service is not running. Possibly you have to restart the computer"

I restarted the laptop and tried to update the laptop but i was not successful.
Then i took a look at the list with running services (see screenshot: tsx62_W7_update_B.JPG).
There you can see that the service "Windows update" is running but its still
not possible to start the update process....

All my screenshots are in german language.

Okay, let's try reseting WU Components:

Download the following file.
Create a new folder on your Desktop.
Extract the file you've downloaded to a new folder on your Desktop you've created in the previous step.
Right-click ResetWUEng.cmd file and select Run as Administrator.
A windows will appear prompting you if you want to continue with the process. Please press Y.
Another menu will appear. Press 2: Reset Windows Update Components.
Verify that you have selected number 2 and hit Enter.
Wait until the process is complete.
You should see the message: The operation completed successfully.
Press any key to continue. . .

Close the window and reboot.

Try updating once again. If it fails, please attach CBS.log

it seems that i was succesful.... After reboot i started Windows Update and (total) 3 new updates have been found.
Is it OK to install both important updates now?

Yes, if any fail, attach CBS.log.

...few minutes ago i finished updating the system. All available updates have been installed sucessfully and
after reboot everything seems to work fine again!!
