Re: Window 7 X64 fails to install updates

Hi there GrandNEd,

Given the large number of missing component keys I'd like to take a look at the COMPONENTS hive.

Please manually upload the components hive by following these instructions:

Upload Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  2. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select copy
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
  4. Right-click on the COMPONENTS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  5. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Re: Window 7 X64 fails to install updates

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Cann't copy that file. I get the message that the file is in use by system. Have rebooted a few times with the same result :(

Re: Window 7 X64 fails to install updates

You may need to restart into safe mode. Let me know if that doesn't work.

CheckSUR.log

SFCFIX log was so larg that I have decided to attach it rather than paste the content directly :)

Thanks so mush for help.

Re: Window 7 X64 fails to install updates

There was an error:

Code:
C:\Windows\system32>dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Users\myname\Downloads\Windows6.1-KB2685813-x64.cab
Værktøjet Deployment Image Servicing and Management
Version: 6.1.7600.16385
Afbildningsversion: 6.1.7601.18489
Behandler 1 af 1 -
Der opstod fejl - Package_for_KB2685813 Fejl! 0x800736b3
Fejl! 14003
Den refererede samling er ikke installeret på systemet.
DISM-logfilen findes på C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
C:\Windows\system32>

Translation for Danish:
fejl = error
Der opstod fejl = an error occurred
Den refererede samling er ikke installeret på systemet. = Reference cataloge is not installed on this system

here I have the logs:
CBS_Log_2016-12-29
dism.log

I paste CBS log for only todays operation as the file was some 627 MB large. If you need the whole thing, please let me know. Thanks again
