643 installing KB2901983, KB3122661 and KB3127233

Windows Update keeps failing on installing KB 2901983, KB3122661 and KB3127233.
Tried like 9 different troubleshooting on Windows Update website, saw a topic here with specific fixes, thought I'd see if you could help. Can't get Windows 7 Updates to install, trying to (ultimately) update to windows 10. CBS files are to follow shortly. Thank you for your help!

My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you with your issue. If you want to upgrade to Windows 10, you don't have to fix these errors. All you need to do is to download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, and either use the "Upgrade this computer now" option (first one), or download an .iso of Windows 10 (second option), then mount it and launch setup.exe inside it to start the upgrade process.

Hey! So, it looks like it's hung on the "Setup is cleaning up before it closes" screen. There's no visible hard drive activity from the light. It installed pretty fast, but it doesn't look like it's doing anything now. If I don't hear back from you I'll still leave it going through the night to try it out. Thanks!

Hey! So, no dice. I woke up this morning and there was no trace of the installer, windows 7 still alive and kicking on the pc. Tried a reboot and it hung for 2 hours on "installing update 4 of 5" with no hard drive light flickering.

Alright in that case, let's see if patching up your system files a bit will help.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan
Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;

Download the right version of SURT for your system;
- Your version of Windows is:
Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go throught the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes);
On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log;
Attach this log in your next reply;

Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

Alright, let's start with SFC then.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;

On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select

Run as Administrator
On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
Enter the command below and press on Enter;

Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter

A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Alright. The main issue here is the KB2901983, which is .NET Framework 4.5.2. The two other KBs are updates for it, so obviously if you cannot install the Framework, the two security updates for it will fail. Follow the instructions below please.

MiniToolBox

Download MiniToolBox and move the file to your Desktop;
Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select

Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users);
Check the following options:
- List Installed Programs;
- List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;
Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete;
Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;

nm! I found it. The silverlight dl was a self-extracting cabinet that was still open as a hidden process. I stopped it. Everything is renamed and update is restarted
