4G SIM Card Wi-Fi connection thoughts?

Hi,
I realize this is a long shot, but I'd appreciate at least general advice on the matter, because I'm quite frankly not such an expert in networking.

I live in a rural area with a crappy connection (4 Mb/s DL, 0,5 Mb/s UL) and I cannot upgrade, because I'm too far from the ISP Points or whatever they are called. There have recently been solutions including 4G SIM Card wireless routers. I'm wondering if anyone's used them or has had any experience with them, because I can't put up with this connection any longer. This option would be significantly easier on my bill, but do bear in mind that while crappy, this connection has been serving me well for 10 years. There have rarely been issues, so I'm a bit scared of a change, but at the same time I desperately need something better.

Sorry no one has replied. In fact, I didn't know such a thing as 4G sim card wireless routers existed. I had to look up what it was.
I just got my first smart phone in March so I'm still stuck on learning about that. I did a bit of reading on tethering a smartphone and that's about it.

Here's hoping someone has used a device like this and can offer a review.

Wow. That was fast. I didn't even get a chance to reply! ;)

I was going to say I have two contacts who use similar 4G connections. One loves it, the other hates it. The one who hates it moved out to the boonies from the inner city (supposedly to get away from city life! :r1:) where he was used to fast broadband speeds. He had satellite Internet at first but it was too expensive and too slow. 4G is typically a little faster than satellite, but not by a lot.

The other loves it because she has always lived out in the boonies and never experienced a faster connection.

What are your Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test scores?

BTW, many smart phones today let you turn your cell phone into a wifi hot spot. That might be something to look into if you have several connected devices.
 
I know, I survived using a very data limited hotspots.

My Speedtest results are 40-ish Mb/s for DL and 45-50 Mb/s for UL.

I tried downloading, torrenting, and streaming, so far, no issues whatsoever.
 
45+ "upload" speeds is amazing. Most ISPs don't provide that since most users don't need much upload.

I pay for 50 down and 5 up so I cannot complain.
