2008R2 7601 Component Store / .Net Corruption

Hi Folks,

I'll try and be brief. 2008R2 box on an Avoton chip with ECC. 7601 Standard.

• Roles/Features cannot be installed or removed
• Any updates to .Net fail
• .Net based apps aren't fully functional

Storage medium issues ruled out.
DISM/SFC/SURT/netCleanup/NetVerification don't resolve it. Even an in place upgrade installation fails to clean the component store up.

Hello and welcome!

Using the .NET Collect Utility

1. Download collect.exe and save to your desktop.
2. Go ahead and run the tool
3. The utility creates a compressed cabinet of all the needed logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.
4. Please zip/attach to this post or if too large, send using a service such as SendSpace.

Can you try installing .NET Framework 4.7.2 and let me know if the problem persists?

Throws the applicable version of this. None of the MSIs on the machine are applicable so I cancelled the dialogue, let it run and voila. Appears to have installed.

Was sure I'd tried that before. Will test now with other actions after a reboot.
