Hi,

I've been experiencing latency issues mainly attributed to ndis. I've attempted to uninstall all drivers, reinstall latest drivers, reset tcip, disable antivirus.

I've disabled the wifi network and bluetooth adapters.

The network ethernet driver performs worse when on the latest driver, so I rolled back to the previous driver.

Anyone's assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Log files are available on this link: system logs.zip - Google Drive

Re: High Latency NDIS.sys

So I've done a couple more tests today (images attached):
  • uninstalled all network drivers and reinstalled - performed test off ethernet
  • disabled ethernet and used wifi only
  • used wifi only and reset network settings
  • rolled back usb driver

After doing all that, it seems much better than it was! I read somewhere about doing a clean windows install, does any have any ideas whether that would be worthwhile?

Hi Xilolee!

Slight improvement again, it seems like it is not causing the stuttering to music and freezing that is was before. Is this amount of latency an issue, or should I keep trying to reduce?

Hi All,

So I did a clean install of windows 10 - complete format.

Issues still exist.

Applied the same measures as listed above.

Have attached pictures of measures.

Change is that storport.sys is now the offender, any ideas anyone?

Hi Xilolee,

Dust removed, cables disconnected and reconnected, no cables were damaged. Removed and reinserted RAM and graphics card.

Storport.sys is still causing latency. Any other ideas?

Hi Xilolee,

I ran dumo and updated everything possible with the OEM tools (Radeon for AMD, Intel for Intel items, Realtek for Realtek items). Dumo appears to have versions that exceed what are available by manufacturer release?

I ran latencymon before updating and after. It seemed to have same effect as previous attempts where the latest drivers appear to cause greater latency issues?

Hi,

Well this has me stumped, if I run on wifi only, tcpip is the main issue, followed by the storage port driver?

Hi All,

Does anyone have a guide or a link to a guide that shows how to comprehensively troubleshoot and diagnose latency issues?

Please temporary remove Kaspersky and use Windows Defender as alternative.

Hi,

I removed ZoneAlarm (don't have Kaspersky installed), and there seemed to be a minor improvement. Still getting latency issues, though not as bad, screenshot attached. So now back to USB port, HDAudiobus, ntosknrl. Any ideas?
