· OS - Windows 10, 64 bit (upgraded from Windows 7)

· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7 I would guess, if I'm understanding the question.

· full retail version
· Age of system (hardware) - Varies, as the hardware has been upgraded, several times over the years.
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? It's about 2 years and I have no done a re-install yet, as I'm trying to avoid one.

· CPU - AMD FX 8150
· Video Card - Geforce GTX 60
· MotherBoard - M5A97 LE R2.0
· Power Supply - brand & wattage - Cooler Master 750 watt, modular

· System Manufacturer - Me.
It's a Desktop

Hard drive scan came back clean, and I also have ran a Ram test. The ram test passed, and came back error free.

  • Newer bios (two newer versions) is present on the motherboard support webpage.
  • MBAM drivers are present and loaded, but I can't find MBAM in installed programs.
    If you uninstalled it, maybe it's better to remove it completely.
    Malwarebytes Clean Uninstall Tool (MB-Clean) is available in support.malwarebytes.com.

The update, I'm trying to update to, is 16299. The current Windows Version I have is 10586. I should add, that I've ran SysnativeBSODCollectionApp and SFCFiX (Before I cam here), to attempt to fix the corrupt files. They both try to fix files, but fail to tell me what is causing the problems, and refuse/can't fix the files. Windows has been crash rebooting for over a year now, and there never seems to be a rime or reason to it.. The computer can be idle for hours and it will just reboot/crash. I can be playing WoW and it will do the same. The longest I went without any crashes, was a few months. Because I have Windows on a SSD, it's a slight annoyence, but that's about it. As I get right back into Windows in about 30 seconds rougly. However, even with that, it takes about 10 - 15 seconds from getting into windows, before it will respond to any programs opening, despite it being on a SSD.

I will run the Malwarebytes Clean Uninstall Tool. I removed it, as I read that it can sometimes cause problems with updates. I will update my bios later on today, when I get back from errands.

How would I do that ? I've tried download the newest service pack/update and I can't find a image.. It just keeps forcing me to to go through the The Update Assistant .

I figured it out. I was able to find a page that tricked the Microsoft page, into giving me the option of downloading the ISO directly.

You should format your USB (backup all the data on it), and copy the CONTENTS of the iso file onto it, not the iso file itself.
After you do that and verify it, reboot and set your USB as a primary boot device in your BIOS/UEFI settings. Savew changes and reboot, the install should start.

You could alternatively do this with a tool like Rufus if you know what you're doing.

I'm using 7zip to extract the ISO directly to formated USB drive, as I'm going to asume that is what you meant ? I didn't see any other way to copy the ISO contents to the drive.

I'm not not sure what Rufus is, as I've never heard of it before. Here is a screenshot of the extracted files. Is everything in order ?

Go ahead and try to see if it boots. It works in some cases, but some manufacturers require a bit of fiddling around, so set your USB as the primary boot device in the BIOS, save changes (usually F10) and reboot.

It wouldn't boot normally. It gave me this message, and I removed the USB drive, clicked on yes and it went back into windows.... For updating my BIOS, do I unzip the folder and put folder on a zip drive ?

There is a more current version of it on the website, and it's one of the questions listed in the posting guide, so I figured I would update it.. However, it wont let me. It keeps saying security verification failed.

This is no help to me... It's the settings when you use the WINDOWS tool, but I'm trying to use Rufus per your suggestion.. This is also for creating a new Windows 10 install on a USB drive.. I already have this, on a different USB drive.. I want to put the update/upgrade to a USB so it's bootable. I'm going in circles here.. I took your suggestion, and now I'm being asked to do something totally different, and not what I want to do.

I'm sorry about the confusion.
Okay, let's first agree on the approach, do you want to try using MCT to create a bootable USB or Rufus as I have suggested? Do note that MCT is official tool and has a better chance of working.
