Hello all lovely helpful folks

Back here again with another problem :(

The title says it all. DISM /online returns error 193. Ran SFC /scannow and there is no issue found.

DISM log is attached. I really appreciate your time and effort for helping me in advance!

Edition: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Version: 1709
OS Build 16299.192

hello,

it only generates dism log. with the following message:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.16299.15

Error: 193

An error occurred while attempting to start the servicing process for the image located at C:\.
For more information, review the log file.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

C:\WINDOWS\system32>

I ran dism few more time but keeps getting the same above error and then I checked CSB.log and found nothing about dism error or info by checking the date and time at the bottom lines.

Update:

I created a new administrator account, ran dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth command and it returned no error and completed 100%. *scratching head*

any idea what the culprit in the main administrator account?

Yes, the main/old administrator account (with one which I get error 193) does have space within it and let's say I use for example "Jack Follower" as username. The new one I created (the one dism works fine) doesn't have space within it.

Thank you very for your time!

Wait please :D

I still get the error 193 with "Jack Follower" administrator. Does that mean I have to live with it?

I was thinking about doing that.
1. Does migrating will give an exact copy of the old account or there will be things missing. If there will be settings, apps..etc will be missing and can't be migrated then can you please tell me which ones will be?
2. After migrating, I will not face issue with dism? Or there is a chance that I might face the same issue again after migration of old account to new account
3. Also, which is the best way to migrate to the new account? I searched and I found EaseUS TODO PCTrans does offer that option. Is it safe to use it?

Many thanks.

I have never done this myself, so I would suggest you manually store any important data somewhere just to be safe.
There is always a chance of problems. I cannot guarantee you won't have an issue down the road. However, this should resolve DISM errors and if there are any errors in the future, feel free to come back to us :)
As I said, I never tried this, but I found that it is possible to do within Windows: Backup User Profile Windows 10 and Move it to Another Computer
