[10InsideV1711b17046] 0x800f0950 "/CapabilityName:OneCoreUAP.OneSync~~~~0.0.1.0"

Hi, I have installed Windows 10 Home Inside Preview 17046.rs_prerelease.171118-1403 and some of Windows functions doesn't work (setting of accounts in Windows Mail app etc.). I had reported this issue in Windows Feedback centrum.

My question:
My application Mail 17.8730.20515.0 doesn't work properly. There has to be a bug in the app! In the settings menu Settings > Manage Accounts when I click on any of my existing accounts nothing is happening. When I click on Add Account nothing is gonna happen as well.

Answer from Microsoft:
Issue: After upgrading from Build 16299.0 to 16299.15, you might lose all previously installed Feature-on-Demand (FOD) packages such as Windows Media Player, language features, etc. during the upgrade. If you upgraded to Build 16299.15 from an older build such as Build 16296 – you are not impacted.

This issue occurs due to a bug in our servicing stack where the FOD packages are incorrectly “dead-ended”. When this happens, setup removes these “dead-ended” FODs during upgrade. By losing these FOD packages, you might experience a range of issues such as your email not syncing in the Mail app, different elements of UI not appearing in Settings or apps like Mail, font disappearing, Cortana not working correctly and the loss of Windows Media Player.

To get out of this state: You will have to manually reinstall your missing FOD packages. There may be some cases where some missing FODs are automatically reinstalled, such as those tied to the languages associated with your profile. Other features may require command line operations to install.

If all your email accounts stopped syncing new emails or you are unable to add a new email account: One of the main components for email functionality is also a FOD.

You can reinstall that component via this command line in an admin command prompt: C:\WINDOWS\system32>dism /online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:OneCoreUAP.OneSync~~~~0.0.1.0

Future upgrades to builds newer than Build 16299.15 shouldn’t remove the FODs that were reinstalled.

But DISM command always ends with error 0x800f0950

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> dism /online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:OneCoreUAP.OneSync~~~~0.0.1.0

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.17046.1000
Image Version: 10.0.17046.1000

Error: 0x800f0950

DISM failed. No operation was performed.

I have tried:
sfc /scannow
dism /online /cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Nothing helped me.
Finally, I have tried the SFCFix.exe. It the attachment is my CBS.log file and DISM.log file.

Thank everyone for any help.

Hi. Yesterday I installed the 17063 and immediately after the installation I had experienced even bigger issues.

Every few minutes the Windows crashes with Green Screen Of Death every few minutes... sometime it takes 15min but sometimes barely 5 minutes. On GSOD is usually "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" or "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE".

I ran disk checking tool (I got SSD disk), later I ran tried to run sfc /scannow - but never finished the checking because the Windows always crashed. Today miraculously I didn't see the GSOD yet. I ran all the sfc /scannow (but no error was found). So I tried the dism /online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:OneCoreUAP.OneSync~~~~0.0.1.0 and it worked. It fixed also the original issue described here Insider Hub - Windows Insider - now I am able to add/change the setting of my email accounts in Windows Mail app again.

Great! These kinds of thing happen when you're an Insider. I'll mark the thread as solved!

Today I reverted Windows back to the version 17046 because 17063 was absolutely unusable!

So many issues with the touchscreen, freezing apps, but the biggest problem were many, many and very often GreenScreensOfDeath - sometimes the Widows was not able to boot up at all! I would revert to the public release, but I cleaned up my dick and deleted old backup of the system ... :(

Darn it. I guess you'll have to wait for the next release and hope for the best.
