Hey folks,

I'm getting a lot of these errors lately. It happens at least once pretty much every time I boot up the PC after it's been powered off for a few hours. But after the initial crash it generally runs with relative stability for the rest of the session. Dump logs attached.

  • System Manufacturer? Self-built
  • Laptop or Desktop? Desktop
  • OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista) Windows 10 home
  • x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)? 64 bit
  • What was original installed OS on system? Same as above
  • Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Retail
  • Age of system? (hardware) 2-3 years for most parts
  • Age of OS installation? ~1.5 years on current install
  • Have you re-installed the OS? Yes
  • CPU Intel i5 8400
  • RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL15 (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15); slots 1 & 2
  • Video Card - Radeon RX 590
  • MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) Gigabyte Z370P D3-CF (U3E1)
  • Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one) Corsair TX850W
  • Is driver verifier enabled or disabled? Not sure.
  • What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth) Windows defender
  • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? No
  • Are you using Disk Image tools? (like daemon tools, alcohol 52% or 120%, virtual CloneDrive, roxio software) No
  • Are you currently under/overclocking? Are there overclocking software installed on your system? No
Other detail: I'm booting from an NVMe drive and I have a separate SATA drive attached for storage/overflow.

Thanks for moving this to the proper location.

I have tried all of the startup repair options and bootrec commands in that walkthrough but I'm still having issues.

To describe the problem a little bit further: my computer does load windows. I'm not stuck in a permanent loop or anything. I generally have no issues within the first 45 seconds to a minute of powering on the computer. It's almost like my crashes are on a timer; they generally happen about a minute after I've turned on the computer from a cold state. Whether I'm sitting at the login screen, loading startup programs, or even have a program open. It seems more timer-based than dependent upon where I am in the process. But after that initial crash, it seems to run just fine...

It just makes me wonder if this is more hardware related, but I wouldn't know where to start. I've reseated my M2 drive and gone over all power cables.

There were approximately 45 non-BSOD crashes during the past month.

I had not realised the system was booting successfully so thanks for clarifying. Does the crash occur if you use Safe Mode?
