Hello Sysnative! Seeking your assistance again.

I am having issues installing any Cumulative update on this Windows 10 machine.

SFC scan and DISM repair shows no error. I also already tried to rebuild the SoftwareDistribution folder with no luck.

I checked the CBS log and found the following :

I can see the registry keys when I mount the COMPONENTS hive (COMPONENTS > CanonicalData > Deployments) but the 2 .cat files are not present inside my WinSxS folder.

Hi,

Please attach the latest CBS logs, and a copy of the COMPONENTS hive to looks at.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
