Inside the command prompt window type or copy & Paste the following command: net stop wuauserv Click to expand... Try to install the update again.

W windsnob Contributor Joined Apr 14, 2019 Posts 18 Apr 20, 2019 #22 The installer ran, and I thought it said it finished successfully, but when I went to the update history it is listed as failed with error code 80073701 and it is not listed in installed updates. Also, in the installed updates list there are several hundred updates that the "installed on" date is listed as yesterday. Maybe that's why it took so many hours to reboot? Here is the csb.log file. Install Update using Dism Please download KB4015549 http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._59cf25073f2e8615b01d9719a0a2e2a0a9a92937.msu save the file to c:\windows\temp change the name of the update file to a smaller name windows6.1-KB4015549-x64.msu (keep the extension .msu in the end of the file name in case its visible if not ignore that) open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial) type or Copy & Paste the following commands line by line: cd /d c:\windows\temp expand windows6.1-KB4015549-x64.msu -f:* C:\windows\temp DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\windows6.1-KB4015549-x64.cab You should receive the message: The operation completed successfully. Restart Windows to complete this operation. Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted. If you receive any other message: Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter.
