Hello, sorry for the long delay, it's been pretty busy here. I appreciate everything you guys do here to help people. I followed your steps to disable startup services and programs then tried updating again. I get this error: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again...

Thanks, I didn't know defender was enabled.. I disabled avast thinking it might be blocking it. With both of them disabled it still can't check for updates.

Successfully updated to windows 10. Thank you. It's still not able to check for updates. Error code: 0x8024401c edit: Pretty much the only thing I need now is .NET framework installed but it also won't connect to that.

It always fails to connect while checking for updates, but this morning there was a pop up saying to install updates. I clicked okay and a bunch of them installed and my computer restarted. Now I have these updates installed but I still can't check for new updates. The main update I want is...

I recently put together this computer and installed a fresh windows 8.1 copy. CPU: intel i5 2500k MOBO: Asrock Z77 Pro 3 SSD: Kingston 240gb GPU: GTX 760 RAM: HyperX 24gb I've been trying to get windows updates so I can upgrade to windows 10. Internet works but can't connect to windows update...
