windows 10 wont accept password

setting up a local account and giving it admin rights under 8.1 allowed me to get into win10 but continuing Ethernet / Realtek issues - despite win10 drivers etc, it just wont connect - I am again tempted to roll back to 8.1 unless I find a solution quick

worryingly, the 'go back to previous build' has been going for hours now, dots circling, 'restarting' I'm tempted to pull the plug and try to install win7 from scrach then try to upgrade to win10 from there

me again. Brian shares my conclusion I should roll back to create a local account under win 8.1 https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/17286-modern-set-up-host-stopped-working.html I will also try to update Realteck driver before I try to install win10 again any advice please?

yes just me here and I can log into One Drive via this old XP laptop using the old password, which is the only one I used on 8.1 on the PC

windows 10 wont accept password

Hi I eventually got upgrade to 10 to work. It wont let me log in - wont accept the 8.1 password. Is there a default new password or an Admin or Guest account/password I can use, please? Should I roll back to 8.1 and install 10-compatible drivers before upgrading again from DVD ISO?

after many 0x8007045a etc fails, file system corruption messages, I managed to restore from the system disk image and install win10. Now I have the original cant connect problem - but I have the win10 drivers for Realtek on a USB (maybe I should have installed them before updating?) but I cant...

it came from DinoPC with win7 disks and I upgraded to win8 and ordered disks from MS I'll try to restore to the system image I took first

I tried a Clean Boot including unistalling Anvi Smart Defender Then attempted to install from the USB drive. still the sam result: modern set up host stopped working I have windows 7 and 8 disks Can I re-set it to pne of those and go to win10 from there?

I followed the steps to show hidden files In C:$Windows.~BT there is a DUDowload folder with a Set Up folder with setupprep.exe There is also a Sources folder with setup.exe I changed the compatibility for the latter inc. for all users I deleted some programmes to leave 36.8GB free of 111GB...
