Hello again. Another Server, same problem. I cannot install the Windows Defender role on the server. Windows updates run without errors. SFC / Scannow does not find any errors. SFCFix does not find any errors, but aborts the DISM scan with error 14. DISM / Restorehealth aborts with error 14...

[SOLVED] Windows Server 2016 - Cannot install Windows Defender Role - Error 0x80073701 The referenced assembly could not be found.

DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\windows\temp\Windows10.0-KB4516044-x64.cab completed wihout errors. Still the same errors after reboot (language pack deinstallation error, Windows Defender installation). Here is the actual CBS.log. Many thanks so far!

German is the standard language of the server. I wouldn't want to uninstall this. When uninstalling the other languages, I get error messages.

Hi SleepyDude, many thanks for your response. I followed your instructions. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth runs without errors. I restarted the server. But still no luck with the Windows Defender Role (same error).

Hi, I cannot install the Windows Defender role on the server in question. Windows updates run without errors. But there were installation errors for some Cumulative Updates back in 2019 and 2020 (KB4537806, KB4512517). SFC / Scannow does not find any errors. SFCFix does not find any errors...
