[SOLVED] Umpteenth attempt at upgrading to Windows 10 failed, please help

Yeah, it's really mind boggling. I have also tried removing the firewire card, also to no avail. I have some spare hard disks laying around, I'll format one and try a clean install there. I can boot from the USB drive I made with the media creation tool and install from it, right? Anyway...

[SOLVED] Umpteenth attempt at upgrading to Windows 10 failed, please help

OK, I just tried installing the update with only my on-board video and the same thing happened. The upgrade doesn't even go beyond the "copying files" stage, before aborting and restoring the previous verison of windows. Any other ideias? Thanks.

No, I haven't. Actually, I don't think I ever even used my on-board video. Do you think it's a viable option?
